Marijuana Legalization Bill Approved by Congressional Committee In Historic Vote

In a historic vote, a congressional committee approved a bill to end federal marijuana prohibition. Recently, The House Judiciary Committee passed the Marijuana Opportunity, Reinvestment and Expungement Act (24-10), setting the stage for a full floor vote. Two Republicans, Matt Gaetz (FL) and Tom McClintock (CA), joined Democrats in support of the bill.

CDC Announces Breakthrough Vape Crisis Discovery

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention found that vitamin E acetate may be linked to vaping-related illnesses in the United States. Late in the year, The Principal Deputy Director of the CDC, Dr. Anne Schuchat, went called the new findings a “breakthrough.” Additionally, Dr. James Pirkle explained that vitamin E acetate can be “enormously sticky” when introduced to lung tissue and that it’s known to “hang around.”
